Nano Banana Image Editing: Now on AI Mode and Google Lens (2025)

Google's AI Mode and Google Lens are getting a new feature called Nano Banana, which brings the viral image editing and generation capabilities of Gemini 2.5 Flash Image to these platforms. The feature is now available in English in the US and India, with more countries and languages coming soon. On Android, users can access Nano Banana through Circle to Search integration, which takes them directly to AI Mode. In AI Mode, a new 'plus' icon in the bottom-left corner of the prompt box allows users to access the Gallery, Camera, and Create Images with a banana emoji. When selecting the last option, the prompt hint changes to 'Describe your image', enabling users to generate new images or edit existing ones. The generated images feature a Gemini spark watermark in the bottom-right corner. In Google Lens, the 'Create' tab has been introduced, with a banana emoji in the shutter button. This tab prompts users to capture, create, and share images, defaulting to the front-facing camera for selfies. The FTC discloses the use of income-earning auto affiliate links.
